Welcome to our school!
Technical engineering in topography and engineering in geodesy and cartography are degrees that have historically been offered by the School of Geodetic, Cartographic, and Topographic Engineering (ETSIGCT). As the largest school in Europe now teaching these topics, it serves as a resource for students from various nations.
The Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering and Topography was created in the academic year 2010–2011 due to the credentials being adjusted to the new degrees and the technological developments that have advanced the area of cartography.
The school is committed to providing students with a high-quality education that is as relevant to professional prospects on the market today as feasible. To this end, most subjects are taught utilizing the most up-to-date technology. This fact ensures that the students receive a top-notch education and are equipped to handle any challenges that may arise in their future professional lives, along with the highly personalized treatment given to each student and the ongoing evaluation techniques used.
In the UPV, our school has the most significant percentage of training exchanges. Numerous overseas students select us each year due to the level of our education as well as the characteristics of our Mediterranean lifestyle, including our pleasant climate, long, sunny summers, and moderate winters.
Since coordinating the EEGECS Thematic Network for five years, ETSIGCT has established itself as a leading global institution for geodesy and topography. The more than 115 European partners are still in contact to participate in international projects and various cooperative collaborations. It is a network that gathers many of the European institutions in Geomatics. It facilitates communication between them, being the ETSIGCT the coordinator of this initiative and maintaining the web platform of contacts and links between them.
The Erasmus, PROMOE, SENECA, Erasmus Mundus, and TEMPUS programs, which facilitate student exchanges, are actively supported by the ETSIGCT.
We are also a participant in the TEMPUS GIDEC project. This project aims to improve Higher Education in Geodesy and Cartography in Ukraine, Armenia and Moldova to help these countries achieve sustained development. Teacher training courses and student exchanges are also conducted with these countries.
Other international programmes in which it actively participates are TARGET, TEE with North America and the EUROTANGO Project with Argentina, all of which promote the mobility of students and teaching staff in different geographical areas. The school also participates in the HERODOT Network, which the United Kingdom coordinates.
